Morning stampers!....It's time to share our challenge over at Just Add Ink and as this week was the release of the lovely new 2013-2014 "Stampin-Up" Catalogue here in South Pacific, Mae thought it fitting that we find inspiration using the cover as a starting point!
I just love everything about this cover, but even more so the contents.....the whole thing just takes me to my "Happy Place"...:0) Anyhoo, onto my DT sample. Keeping in mind the pretty new In-Colours and the frame with it's fancy scroll border as my starting point, l went from there. I had been wanting to try the double embossing technique for ages and if you want to have a try yourself, checkout fellow UK Demonstrator Peg Coombes she has a great tutorial on her blog!
I also made a second one using So Saffron and the oval embossing folder from the "Designer Frames" set.
Thanks for trying out the tutorial, glad you liked it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Peg, it was so easy to follow and fun too!
DeleteNikki I've never seen that technique before! I'll have to give it a try - it looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, the double embossing looks amazing, TFS the tutorial link Cathy x
ReplyDeleteThey are both gorgeous and very elegant, Nikki. The first one is my favourite, I think. Such a shame that embossing folder was retired. I must give that technique a try :). Judy x
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely surprise Nikki - two versions! I sooo have to try double embossing. I love how you framed your frames with those lovely flower bouquets! xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful job you did with these cards.
ReplyDeleteOooo, nice! Love the So Saffron card too. Love the double embossing. I have tried it and not been happy with my outcomes as yet. These are simply stunning! Always love everything you do. Louise xx
ReplyDeleteWow these 2 cards are so beautiful! I love the way you used the frames to double emboss here. Thanks for the link to the tutorial. I've been wanting to know how to do this for a long time.
