Just Add Ink #370...Sketch!

At Just Add Ink this week, we have a lovely simple sketch from Narelle and l had heaps of fun creating with this one and think it teamed well with the Marquee Messages and Happy Birthday Gorgeous sets.
Powder Pink and Pear pizzazz are a lovely combination combined with Black/White and Gold. The birthday banner was embossed with white E/P and l used my white gel pen to add detail to the arrow.

Lots of fab inspiration from the design team, so pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.

Colour INKspiration #14

 Colour INKspiration

Hey there! It's time for a brand new Colour INKspiration challenge.

Colour INKspiration Crew consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.
There’s also a Facebook group for Stampin' Up! ® enthusiasts who would like to share their paper craft projects using the colour combinations.
Here’s the deal - Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop.
Members of the group have the option to join the Colour INKspiration 'Challenge' by uploading photos of their projects and can link back to their personal blog if they wish to.
Make sure you click on the Colour Inkspiration banner above and ask to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in with the challenges too.

I had some inky fun with this group of colours and created a universe/galaxy effect for a fun birthday card.
Using Watercolour paper and the above inkpads, l used a sponge to randomly apply them. Once l was happy with those, l flicked some water over the whole thing to create some speckled light patches and also used some watered down white craft ink to splatter.
Once it was all dry l added lots of fine Dazzling detail spots to add a glittery effect.

If you are following the hop you would have arrived here from the lovely Rachel Palmieri and her super cute project.  Next on the hop is the talented and lovely Liz Gross.

Just Add Ink #369...Inspiration!

This week over at Just Add InkRochelle has given us some lovely scenery style inspiration to play with.
The first thing that caught my eye was the colour gradient from the deep water, through the greenery to the soft sky.
Using Island Indigo-Emerald Envy and Pool Party l created a gradual gradient of the colours and having just received my "Quirky Critters" stamp set, l thought the "Narwhal" worked well with the watery scene.
To create the background l used the "Ink smooshing" technique. Using pool party first, l applied ink directly from my ink pad to a kraft mat, (a large piece of window sheet will work too) and spritzed it with water.
Then using a piece of window sheet/acetate, l laid it onto the ink puddle picking up some of the ink and then placed it onto my card panel using my fingers to rub (smooshing) it out across the card.
I then repeated those steps using Emerald Envy then Island Indigo.

To colour the Narwhal, l used blender pens and the SU watercolour pencils in Bermuda Bay & Basic Grey. He also got a liberal dose of Silver Details on his horn & spots.
Although its not noticeable in the pics, there is a very sparkly layer over the bottom half of the card to give a shimmery watery effect.

Excuse the overall tone of this next pic, but taking it at night on my kitchen bench captured the sparkle the best..:0)

Just Add Ink #368..."Add a Twist"

Happy Friday folks!...It's almost the weekend...Yay! I hope you all have some fun things planned and find time to get creative..:0)

We have a fun new challenge happening over at Just Add Ink. This week Kelly has suggested we create a Christmas project using a Birthday set! Well..as l had just ordered the super cute "Happiest of Days" set and it has this super cute present image, l decided that was where l was headed.
I kept it CAS and let the vibrant pressie colours pop! These were coloured using the retired Blendabilities in the Cherry Cobbler and Wasabi colours.
I added some highlights using the Signo White gel pen and also added a couple of dots using the Ranger enamel Accents and SU Gold Details....Probably should have left well enough alone though, as the very last dot gave a cough and splutter as it came out and caused a rather odd shape..:0(
The Christmas sentiment was created with white E/P and the Labeler Alphabet.

The rest of the team have created some fabulous projects with heaps of inspiration using Birthday sets for Christmas, so make sure you pop over and check those out.

Colour INKspiration #13

 Colour INKspiration

It's time for a new Colour INKspiration challenge.

For me the colours in this one just needed flowers. To create my pretty posy l used the Beautiful Bouquet bundle...This set is so versatile and l love the image sizes and shapes and all of the sentiments.
The flowers are stamped in Sweet Sugarplum & Fresh Fig, the stems are Lemon-Lime Twist and the leaves are Wild Wasabi.
I also created some soft texture in the background using the gorgeous new "Ruffled" embossing folder.

If you are happily hopping, you would have arrived here from the talented Tanya Bell and her gorgeous project. But if not you can continue the blog hop loop to see all of the inspiring creations from the the crew by clicking the "Next" banner below to continue hopping or you can click the Colour INKspiration banner or link above to be directed to our Facebook page where you can start at the top.

Don't forget you can join in the fun and share your creations as well. Just follow the Colour INKspiration link above to our Facebook page and you can add your project there.

Next on the hop is the super talented Kim Badelt

Just Add Ink #367...Colour!

Happy Friday folks! It's time for a new challenge over at Just Add Ink and this week Patrice has given us a cool colour combination to work with.
I absolutely love the new Lemon Lime Twist, its so fresh and unlike any of the other greens in the Stampin Up colour palette.

These colours screamed a masculine card to me, so that's where l went combining them with the yummy new Burlap background stamp and Marquee messages.

I really wanted to add some sparkle. In an understated way of course, being masculine and all. So l used some rubbing alcohol and a few drops of Lemon-Lime Twist reinker and brushed it over some scraps of Dazzling diamonds & the old pale silver glimmer papers using various layers to get the colours l wanted.
Once it was dry l punched a heap of little circle dots with the handheld punch and used the white gel pen to colour the remaining spots and added a drop of fine tip glue to those.

Here's what l used and you can see the variation of tones on the two different glimmer papers.

Don't forget to pop over and check out the awesomeness from the rest of the design team.
