It's Colour INKspiration challenge time and this week Cheryll has provided a gorgeous colour combination for us to create with and l just love that it uses two of the returning colours. Lemon Lime Twist & Blueberry Bushel.
I decided to have some fun with this one and create a fancy fold that l had never tried before. The most common name for this one is the "FLYING SEAGULL" or Accordian Center Panel card...can you see the similarity in the second pic?
To start with, l googled Flying Seagull card fold and came across a few great You Tube videos, but this one from Lisa Curcio was easy to follow. I followed the basic steps exactly the same, but being in the Sth Pacific market, our cardstocks are a different size. So after watching the video, l changed up the measurements to suit. You can find the ones l used for this project below.
To create my background, l used the Blueberry Bushel Inkpad & Blending brushes to add some depth of colour, then spraying water into my palm and flicking over the inked area, allowing it to soak in and wick out...Once dry, l added some diluted White Craft Ink and speckled over the top.

The decorated center (Retired Stitched Nested Label dies) panel was one l had cut in my Blueberry Bushel stash when it retired, so rather than waste, l put it to use on this one.
Rhinestone accents are Basic Rhinestones coloured with Lemon Lime Twist Stampin Blends.
I love that even though it's a fancy fold and slightly more bulky, it still fits in our standard envelopes for postage.
