This week over at the Just Add Ink Challenge blog we have a Colour challenge, this great colour combo was provided once again by the awesome talent of Bronwyn Eastley........
How gorgeous is this combo? For my first attempt l was thinking little man card, so off l went and created using the "All Together set"...Hmmm.... I was not all that keen on the finished article, something just kept bugging me about it, still haven't figured out what!
So then l decided to use my Stampin-Up set "Growing Green" and as it is a flowery set, the girl thing won out again, so glad l did, as l love the way it turned out.
If you look closely you can see l have added some raindrops to the ferns and flower using Crystal effects, l also used a white gel pen for added highlights.
For colouring l stamped the greenery image direct to Sahara sand cardstock and the flowers were stamped on Whisper white and fussy cut to give a more dimensional look.
So, this is my first attempt, just in-case you were curious....lol.
It is kinda cute, but there's still something........
All products are Stampin-Up, except Copics Markers used for colouring.
If you haven't come from the JAI blog, head on over and be totally inspired by the rest of the design team!
"Thanks" for stopping by & l hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Wow Nikki love it! The detail in your colouring is divine. Gorgeous gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteNikki this is absolutely stunning - love the Growing Green set & you've done amazing things with it.
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOOOOOVE your colouring of the flowers and foliage, and the detail added .... gorgeous!! Your first 'attempt' (good grief, woman - it's a work of art!) is adorable, Nikki. I think maybe a textured/stamped background on the main panel might've helped you feel better about it. I, for one, would be happy to get this card for my birthday. Which, incidentally, is not far away - just sayin'!
ReplyDeleteHonestly Nikki I like both of them! The whimsy of the second and the gorgeous floral/greenery, and your stunning colouring of the first.

I love both cards! I love the whimsy of the bird card...and the beauty of the second! ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Christine, your colouring and little dew drops are just gorgeous! My jaw dropped when I saw it in Ning and I'm still in awe. I really love your little birdie card too - that's one set that I was hoping would make its way down here!
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards!! I like them both - Your use of crystal effects adds so much to the cards - I really love how you colored the flowers -the white gel pen and rain drops adds so much - Plus I love the composition of the card! I've played around with using a partial circle - now I've really gotta try it. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love them both Nikki. I can't see why you weren't happy with your birdie one - it's so cute! But the flowers are brilliant with the dew drops on them, your colouring is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE both of your cards, your final one for those beautiful flowers and especially the raindrops on them and the leaves. However, your first attempt is very cute too! We are our own harhest critics Nikki and I love what you do! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... I love both of your ideas! They are adorable and the insides?! Even more of a beautiful surprise! Lovely!
