Just Add Ink #184.....

Black Tie anyone!....Well, not so much ties, as "BOWS", our challenge over at Just Add Ink this week,  is to "Just Add Bows". Now that is a fun challenge, they can be paper like mine or twine, ribbon, die cuts and of course stamped images....It's up to you and your imagination!

Of course just getting Stampin-Up's new bow die, certainly swayed my decision and as much as anything remotely flocked or velvety makes me cringe, l pulled out the now retired "Mocha Morning" dsp to create a rather formal look to my project.

I love the Ex-Libris background stamp and thought it would also work perfectly for the idea l had in mind for "Elegant/Classy"....I'm happy with the look and although it's not easy to see, it has lot's of Silver/Dazzling details sparkles as well.

The design team have come up with some great ways to add bows to their projects, so don't forget to pop over and be inspired!

Simply Sketched for fun!...

Evening all!..I thought l would stop by and share a project l created. For awhile now I've been feeling a little repressed creatively and while l always enjoy and usually like what l create, I've had a feeling of creating under pressure, by that l mean all of my projects have a purpose, be it class/workshop samples where l am always trying to cater to the likes and dislikes of those attending or DT challenge entries where guidelines must be met. I realised l needed to create just for fun, with no real purpose, other than enjoyment...So that is exactly what l did tonight, while hubby watched the football..:0)
So, after that lengthy intro, here's what l created and l love it! I really enjoyed doing some water colouring, which is one of my fave things to do, that and getting inky and l''ve realised it's something I've missed and neglected for too long.
Although this is not what l had in mind when l started, l now have a lovely piece of wall art for my studio. Something just for me to enjoy and to remind myself, l need to do it more often..:0)

Just Add Ink #183...

As you probably already guessed, we have a cool sketch challenge happening over at Just Add Ink this week and you can also see, l took a very literal approach and followed the sketch exactly! I kept it very CAS, and let the texture and dsp patterns do the work..

The DT have really had some fun with this sketch, so don't forget to pop over and be inspired and hopefully you can join in the fun with us this week.

Inking with tape Technique!...

Good Morning!...Thought l would share a cool inking technique card with you today! Actually it's two cards using the exact same products pretty much, just different sizes! As the heading states, it is created by inking up strips of low-tack masking tape with Bermuda Bay-Pistachio Pudding & Pool Party inks and laying them on your cardstock and gently applying pressure with your fingers or an acrylic block, if you don't like getting inky!

The larger of the two was my Dads fathers day card, with die cut lettering added and the image was embossed using Black E/P and Versamark ink for a bolder image. I can't decide which look l prefer!

Just popping in to share a cute gift bag project to go with a card l made a few weeks back, you can find that post Here.

Now,... I'm a huge believer in giving credit if l case/copy anyone Else's ideas, l just think it's the right thing to do! After all, we all like to inspire and share our projects and having it acknowledged is also a nice thing!...Just my 2 cents...:0) So in saying that, the idea for this gorgeous flower (as far as l can tell) came from the very talented Gayle Wheeler and my lovely friend Christine shared it with me recently. With a whole lot of Oohs & Aaahs l might add!....So of course l just had to have a go!

Just Add Ink #182...

This weeks Just Add Ink challenge is to "Just Add Frames" If you take a peek at the DT submissions, you will see a variety of frame ideas to get you started!

I went with my Deco Framelits and created a mini Christmas card and was really pleased with how it turned out and the fact that l now have one more Christmas card completed...I'm determined to get a good head start on them this year, so as to alleviate the Christmas stress and enjoy the process, that and finally ink up some of the unloved Christmas stamps in my stash..:0)

Oh boy, I can't believe it's Friday already! I'm thinking it must be the glorious warm weather we are having here in Melbourne that's thrown me this week...l must confess to being a summer lover, the warmer the better for this little black duck and with the start of Spring, I am so in my happy place and full of energy. When it's warm and sunny, I feel so much more human and raring to get out and move!...Love, love, love it!

Anyway, I'm sure you didn't stop by to get a weather report..:0) We have a yummy colour challenge for you this week over at Just Add Ink.
