This week over at
Just Add Ink,
Rochelle has given us some lovely scenery style inspiration to play with.
The first thing that caught my eye was the colour gradient from the deep water, through the greenery to the soft sky.
Using Island Indigo-Emerald Envy and Pool Party l created a gradual gradient of the colours and having just received my "Quirky Critters" stamp set, l thought the "Narwhal" worked well with the watery scene.
To create the background l used the "Ink smooshing" technique. Using pool party first, l applied ink directly from my ink pad to a kraft mat, (a large piece of window sheet will work too) and spritzed it with water.
Then using a piece of window sheet/acetate, l laid it onto the ink puddle picking up some of the ink and then placed it onto my card panel using my fingers to rub (smooshing) it out across the card.
I then repeated those steps using Emerald Envy then Island Indigo.
To colour the Narwhal, l used blender pens and the SU watercolour pencils in Bermuda Bay & Basic Grey. He also got a liberal dose of Silver Details on his horn & spots.
Although its not noticeable in the pics, there is a very sparkly layer over the bottom half of the card to give a shimmery watery effect.
Excuse the overall tone of this next pic, but taking it at night on my kitchen bench captured the sparkle the best..:0)
Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog to see the fabulous interpretations from the rest of the team.
