Just Add Ink #247...Just Add Love.Blog Hop!

Welcome to our first Just Add Ink Challenge for 2015.

To kick start the year, we have a fun "JUST ADD LOVE" challenge suggested by Christine, but this one has a twist! We want you to incorporate the sketch that Kim has provided using a love element as well.
You can use the sketch on a card or scrapbook layout, or you can create a 3D project and add the tag.
Lot's of possibilities and the design team have some fabulous projects to inspire you.

If you are following the "Blog Hop" you would have just come from the lovely Patrice and her stunning project...But if not, you can continue around the loop by clicking on the blog hop button below,  or if you wish to start at the beginning, you can do so from Here.

JAI 247

I went with cards, using the sketch and literally added "LOVE"...:0) These were the first projects l created with the gorgeous "Painted Petals" set, which l absolutely adore! They are both basically the same, just a couple of variances on the tag and inside.

Now it's time for you to pop on over to see the creative talents of  Narelle..:0)

Mini Treat Bag Box with Tutorial!

"HAPPY NEW YEAR" everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a lovely Christmas and wishing you all, a year filled with much love and good health!

I have been enjoying a lovely break, catching up with friends and family and pretty much just enjoying some down time..:0) I managed a "Hunger Games" movie date with the nephew, spent the weekend down at Cape Schanck in a gorgeous B&B over looking the ocean, which was the most relaxing way to spend a few days and came home feeling revived and ready to crack open my new toys and play..:0

Today is the release of the yummy new "Occasions and Saleabration" brochures from Stampin Up....One of my favorite times of the year!
My project today, is made with the super cute "Mini Treat Bag" Thinlit and few other fun products as well.
Whenever l get a new Thinlit or Die, l always look for alternative uses, as l love the idea of using them in other ways and getting more bang for my buck, so to speak.
Although this was a fairly simple way of changing it, l was pretty happy with how it turned out...I mean really, one can never have to many packaging options..:0)

This post is fairly photo heavy, as I've put together a basic little photo tutorial to show you the process.

Cardstock: I used white copy paper (as this was originally my prototype)..:0)

Cut 2 diecuts using the larger front thinlit.
Cut 2 x 4.3/4" x 1" (Bridge strips)
Cut 1 x 2" x 3.5/8"  From cardstock (Bag base)

Your pieces laid out should look like this!
l have removed the higher arched sections on both panels.
(You can see the one on the right is still there and the left has been removed)

I applied tape to both bottom flaps (you can see the shiny strips) and also along both sides of the bridge strips (after folding them length wise)

Attach the bridge strips to each front panel as shown above.
Then join your 2 front panels, using the bridge strips, as in the pic below.

The last step is to attach the last side together and using the taped flaps, add your base.
(l attached my base to the outside, as it gives a neater finish)

Happy Sunday to you!....With our challenge topic at Just Add Ink being all about gifting and sharing the love, l thought l'd share another of gift packaging l made for a Christmas lunch with friends.
I really enjoyed using the "Wondrous Wreath" set on lot's of projects this year and this was one of the colour combinations l created with.
Bermuda Bay-Gold & White, it really is a very pretty combination!

Festival of Trees #3....

A short post from me today, as my eldest baby is celebrating her 30th Birthday today and there is partying to be done..:0)
Her actual birthday is Christmas eve and like me, being a "Christmas Baby" generally doesn't allow for big celebrations, but this being a milestone, was one that called for a big celebration with family,  friends and probably a large quantity of champagne..:0)

As with my previous Christmas card posts, this is another quick, CAS card!

Festival of Trees Gift Card Holder!..

It seems to be a sign of the times, that giving vouchers/money is a common Christmas gift option these days!...Not one l love, but definitely practical for teens and those wanting to combine a few to buy a larger item.
That being said, rather than just handing them over as they are, l like to pretty them up a bit and this is one of the "Gift card Holders" I'm giving this year.

It was created with a base of 4.1/8" x 11.1/2" Scored @ 3.3/4"-5.3/4"&7.3/4".
Fold and tape the 3.3/4" & 7.3/4" scorelines to form the pocket flap and hold the pocket closed.
I used the Word Window punch to create the pocket opening (punching on the fold) and the 3/4" circle punch to make a finger grab.
The top layers are Bermuda Bay-3.7/8" x 3.1/2" & Whisper White- 3.5/8" x 3.1/4"

Iredescent Ice Bauble!

As l mentioned in my last post, l'd decided CAS was going to be the only achievable option if l was going to get any Christmas cards sent out on time..:0)
Today's card uses the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to create a bauble effect with some partial die cutting and an all over layer of Iridescent Ice embossing powder....It's so pretty and sparkly IRL! But incredibly hard to photograph..:0)
