Just Add Ink #91

This week our challenge over at Just Add Ink is a gorgeous colour combo, provided by the lovely Bronwyn Eastley from "addINKtive designs".

I went with "Whisper White" as my neutral and a rather CAS design for this week, l'm pretty happy with this and it was nice to use a few new toys in the process.

I used the Houndstooth embossing folder and teamed it with the co-ordinating flower punch image from the hostess set Posy Punch, l have misted the flower with some Frost White and Isocol mix applied with a mini mister bottle.

The sentiment is from "Word Play" and is heat embossed with Cherry Cobbler E/P, well this will be another super short post from me, as l have a sweet little bundle to go cuddle..:0)

The Just Add Ink girls have some beautiful inspiration for you and if your up for a challenge we would love you to play along too!

All products used are Stampin-Up.

"Thanks again for popping in & for the lovely comments you leave"  Have a lovely weekend and enjoy a very long one if your in Oz.

Another precious bundle........

Thought l would introduce you to the newest little man in my life.........

"RAFE"
weighing 8lb-14oz
Arrived in the early hours last Thursday morning.

Mum, dad & Rafe are all doing well and Nan is overjoyed to have another little man in her life....:0))
We now have 3 beautiful grandsons to love, cherish and of course "Spoil", l can honestly say getting old definitely has it's perks and being a part of their lives, watching them grow and the joy they bring is by far the best one.

Just Add Ink 89#.....

This weeks Just Add Inks Inspiration challenge is brought to you by the talents of  Delys Cram who is at present enjoying sunshine and cocktails on a well earned "Incentive Trip" to Fiji, compliments of Stampin-Up......

Here's my take on the inspiration pic, l couldn't resist using this gorgeous elephant stamp l had bought forever ago, as l had been wanting to use this frame and as the stamp itself is rather lge, l decided to combine all 3.....
Apologies for the initial pic, as it was extremely difficult to photograph with the frame on due to the reflective glare!

Once l removed the frame it was much easier and produced clearer pics.

I stamped and embossed the image using Versamark ink and Black E/P, once that was done l used post-it notes to mask the bottom and using my 1-3/4" circle punch l made the mask for the moon, also using a post-it note.
Using a sponge and Not quite Navy ink l sponged in the sky fading off to allow for Pumpkin Pie sponging from the horizon line overlapping the colours for a softer effect.
After removing the moon mask l added a small amount of both colours to the moon to blend it into the background.
Once l was happy with the top half l removed the masks at the bottom and sponged with Early Espresso and a little Basic Black inks.

If your after some more inspiration pop over to Just Add Ink and be inspired by the brilliant ideas the Design Team produced for you this week.

Forever young...

Here's a follow up post to co-ordinate with this weeks Just Add Ink entry, l thought l would use the same  Forever Young stamp set & Mocha Morning DSP and create a different look!

For the Embossed background l used the Palour Prints background stamp & again clear EP, for the sentiment l used the Decorative label punch & also used this to frame the Cameo, but reduced it in size by halving it and overlapping.
The lace border effect is 2 of the Tripple layer Doilies (setting #3) punched in Crumbcake to match the DSP and bottom layer of the image panel.

I must say that playing with this piece of DSP was a real struggle for me, as those that know me, know l have a severe issue with the feel of anything "Velvety"....l'm sure this is a result of being made to sit on Velvet lounges growing up in the 70's and as Jodene suggested "Flocked wallpaper"...hmmm this is also true as my  bedroom was wall to wall "Purple Demask Flocked paper" the in thing back then, complete with Limegreen cane furniture!..lol.

All products are Stampin-Up.

Just Add Ink #88

It's that time again and this week at Just Add Ink we have a great challenge idea provided by the talented & lovely Kim Badelt we are challenging you to "JUST ADD A DIE CUT"

I have used multiple die's on this project, the Top Note Die for the sentiment panel cut from Basic black cardstock & the Tasteful Trim Die for the large scallops cut in Brushed Gold under the Mocha Morning DSP layer.

Here's a close up of the clear embossed base, done with the Woodgrain Background stamp, this stamp is great for adding texture without to much of a fussy pattern.
I embossed the clock from the "Forever Young" set with Black EP and repeated the process on Brushed gold cardstock and punched out the clock face with the 1" circle punch, popped it up with dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the Word Play set and embossed in gold EP and finished off with a tab made with the Modern Label punch and secured in place with a lovely sparkly Black Glimmer Brad.
The image is stamped on Very Vanilla & mounted on Soft Suede to Co-Ordinate with the DSP.

If your looking for some fabulous inspiration, check out the great projects from the rest of the Design Team .

UP-UP & Away........

I was very excited to see this set in the Stampin up Catty, it's so easy to use and fun to play with. The colours l used on this are Not quite Navy, Cajun Craze & More Mustard, with a touch of Old Olive for the Grass & a little Bashful Blue for the sky.

To create the clouds l used the cupcake top from the punch as a mask & sponged the Bashful blue, to mount the image l cut 2 lge scallop circles and off set them, the sentiment is from the lovely Hand Penned set, the font of which l absolutely love.

A very quick post from me today & l hope l have inspired you to have a play with this set, it really is fun & would be great for quick workshop samples.
