Just Add Ink #73.....

Morning people, it's JAI challenge time again & this weeks "SKETCH" challenge is provided by the sweet & talented Mae Collins.

Last weekend we celebrated my MIL 80th Birthday, l decided to make her card and giftbox using this weeks challenge....Now as it turned out l didn't end up using them, as the gift l had bought her didn't actually fit in the box after all!
Hmmm...note to self, next time measure first & save the angst!

The base l used for the giftbox is a "Simply Sent Kit" box, that l had thought to keep at some point for this purpose, using my SU stamp "From the Garden" l stamped direct to cardboard and once on Crumbcake cardstock, l used my Copics for colouring, although l did find that both of these were extremly absorbent compared to whisper white cardstock or blending c/stock.
The image on Crumbcake was fussy cut and popped on top with dimentionals to add a bit of balance to the overall look.

As you can see by the pic's, there is a big difference in colour from the card to the giftbox & the only difference in product is the cardstock colour. Do l love them?....Not really, as much as l did enjoy the making, I'm not loving the end result, but as time was an issue, they are what they are!

The Just Add Ink DT have some fabulous inspiration for you, if you haven't come from there, pop on over & check them out, you wont be dissapointed!

All products are Stampin-Up, except the border punch & Copics.

Thanks for stopping by & enjoy your weekend!

  1. Well, my friend, you may not love the finished result but as your #1 ticket-holding groupie, I LOVE your projects. I particularly like the composition of your card; the way you've offset the stamping, and left some Crumb Cake card showing at the top. Gorgeous. Great use of the box that has been waiting to be re-purposed, too; even though the Copics colour differently on the cardboard, it is still stunning.

  2. I think this set is absolutely gorgeous and if you haven't put it to any use you could always put it aside until my birthday later in the year and find something little to fit into it...so no loss that you didn't measure it up before putting it together LOL! I love your colouring...must use my few Copics again soon.
