Colour INKspiration...#145

Evening!

It's Colour INKspiration challenge time and this week Cheryll has provided a gorgeous colour combination for us to create with and l just love that it uses two of the returning colours. Lemon Lime Twist & Blueberry Bushel.

I decided to have some fun with this one and create a fancy fold that l had never tried before. The most common name for this one is the "FLYING SEAGULL" or Accordian Center Panel card...can you see the similarity in the second pic?

To start with, l googled Flying Seagull card fold and came across a few great You Tube videos, but this one from Lisa Curcio was easy to follow.  I followed the basic steps exactly the same, but being in the Sth Pacific market, our cardstocks are a different size. So after watching the video, l changed up the measurements to suit. You can find the ones l used for this project below.

To create my background, l used the Blueberry Bushel Inkpad & Blending brushes to add some depth of colour, then spraying water into my palm and flicking over the inked area, allowing it to soak in and wick out...Once dry, l added some diluted White Craft Ink and speckled over the top.

The decorated center (Retired Stitched Nested Label dies) panel was one l had cut in my Blueberry Bushel stash when it retired, so rather than waste, l put it to use on this one.
Rhinestone accents are Basic Rhinestones coloured with Lemon Lime Twist Stampin Blends.

I love that even though it's a fancy fold and slightly more bulky, it still fits in our standard envelopes for postage.

Just Add Ink #655...Music!

Happy Friday friends!

Over at Just Add Ink  this week, Tristan has challenged us to create a project adding "Music" in some way.
As l don't have much at all in the way of music stamps-papers-dies etc, l decided to rummage through my retired stash and lo & behold there was a wheel. I had unmounted most of my wheels years ago and have them all in a clear stamp storage case...cuts down on space and is easy to see.

This one is called "Music Notes" and is one of the slim wheels, perfect for adding some background music in Pecan Pie, one of the lovely new colours. This was stamped on Crumbcake and ink speckles and sentiment are in Pecan Pie too.

Next up l added crisp white daisies from the lovely new "Cheerful Daisies" dies and used Soft Seafoam & Pecan Pie for the foliage...Crumbcake & White will always be a fave combination for me!

Lots of great "MUSIC" inspired projects from the team, so don't forget to click the link and take a peek at those!

Just Add Ink #653...Choose Two!

Happy Friday friends!

Over at Just Add Ink  we have a fun Choose Two challenge this week and l have opted for Pastels & Banner.
I have used the Sending Smiles stamps in Soft Seafoam-Lemon Lolly-Petal Pink-Highland Heather-Daffodil Delight Pool Party adding some fine lines and dots with the Stampin Up markers...so that covers the pastels and for the Banner element, l have cut a thin strip of Pool Party cardstock to pop beneath the sentiment creating banner style ends.

A simple Linen Thread bow detail and done...sweet and simple!

Embossing is the Stripes & Splatters folders and dsp is another newbie, the 23-25 In Colour dsp stack.

Stamp Review Crew...Brewed For You!

Evening friends!

Stamp Review Crew are on the hop and for this one we are sharing our projects created with the "Brewed for You" bundle.

I have created both a feminine & masculine card to show how versatile this set can be.

For the feminine version l have used the Drybrush B/G stamp in So Saffron and the layered panel and floral detail was created using the "Around the Bend" dies, diecut from some basic white that l lightly coloured with blending brushes in Soft Seafoam-Blushing Bride-So Saffron before diecutting. Wine glasses were stamped in Smoky Slate and So Saffron and l have added some basic pearls to finish.

The masculine version was created using the Splitcard Textures dies on the base in basic black & basic white cardstocks and the colours are Crushed Curry-Merry Merlot-Old Olive. Leaves are Old Olive using the dies and the Bough punch and finished off with a Linen Thread bow.

If you are happily hopping, you would have arrived here from Holly Krautkremer and l'm sure as always she has something fun, fabulous and creative to share!
But if you've just landed here, you can follow the hop and see all of the wonderful crew projects by clicking the link above or "Next" banner below.
