This week over at the Just Add Ink Challenge blog we have a Colour challenge, this great colour combo was provided once again by the awesome talent of Bronwyn Eastley........
How gorgeous is this combo? For my first attempt l was thinking little man card, so off l went and created using the "All Together set"...Hmmm.... I was not all that keen on the finished article, something just kept bugging me about it, still haven't figured out what!
So then l decided to use my Stampin-Up set "Growing Green" and as it is a flowery set, the girl thing won out again, so glad l did, as l love the way it turned out.
If you look closely you can see l have added some raindrops to the ferns and flower using Crystal effects, l also used a white gel pen for added highlights.
For colouring l stamped the greenery image direct to Sahara sand cardstock and the flowers were stamped on Whisper white and fussy cut to give a more dimensional look.
So, this is my first attempt, just in-case you were curious....lol.
It is kinda cute, but there's still something........
All products are Stampin-Up, except Copics Markers used for colouring.
If you haven't come from the JAI blog, head on over and be totally inspired by the rest of the design team!
"Thanks" for stopping by & l hope you have a fabulous weekend!

A couple of quickies.....to enable myself!
As it's been awhile since l have blogged anything other than my JAI posts, l thought l would share a couple of creations l have made in recent weeks, l decided to use some sets that l haven't used all that much, with the new Stampin-Up catalogue only weeks away, l thought l should put ink to rubber so l can justify buying new toy's.
I also thought l would give my "Owl" punch a whirl, as l think he/she is so cute and a perfect companion for my Woodgrain background stamp.....
I was pretty happy with the end result of this one, very simple and quick!
Ok, last one for the minute, l need to photograph a couple more to post a little later!
This one was inspired by one l had seen on-line and saved ages ago.....sorry, cant remember where or who, but if it's yours please drop me an email so l can give credit where it's due!....Love this set, now that l have actually played with it!
All products used are Stampin-Up and available in the current Catalogue.
Well l'm certainly feeling way less guilty now and cant wait to see the new Catalogue!!!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!

This one uses the SU set "Funky Four" and l'm ashamed to admit only 1 of these stamps had seen ink in nearly a year.....Tsk, Tsk!
I also really wanted to use my newly purchased "Scallop Square Duo" die, which l absolutely love! Heaps of nesting combo's with this and the square and Scalloped Square punches.Ok, last one for the minute, l need to photograph a couple more to post a little later!

Here's what l came up with..........
I had fun with this challenge and kept going, with a little decorating on the inside!
The stamp set used was Stampin-Ups "For all you do" and l created the ric-rac using the Tasteful trim Die and used the off cut on the inside, Stampin-ups Square Lattice embossing folder was used on the inside panel and some Kaiser bling was added for a lift!
If you haven't been there yet, pop over to "Just Add Ink" and take a peek, there is some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the design team and l hope we have inspired you to play along!

Just Add Ink #76....An inspiration pic!
Goodness it's already Friday, not sure where this week went, but l certainly didn't achieve what l had planned!
Being Friday means challenge time at JAI and this week we have a beautiful inspiration photo provided by Delys Cram.......
Now how serene is that? Those of us that live in the southern hemisphere are in the thick of winter and let me tell you, l for one would contemplate selling an offspring to be sitting on that balcony in the sunshine!
It seems the older l get, the colder l get! The idea of becoming a grey nomad becomes more appealing every winter!
As some of you know my favourite travel destination is Asia, in particular Bali, so with that in mind l created using the inspiration pic and a mental one, of one of my favourite spots..."Candi Dasa" on the south-east coast of Bali.

As some of you know my favourite travel destination is Asia, in particular Bali, so with that in mind l created using the inspiration pic and a mental one, of one of my favourite spots..."Candi Dasa" on the south-east coast of Bali.
This is somewhat similar to the view from our veranda across the bay, it is such a peaceful place to holiday!
If your wondering about the glow on the horizon, it is to emulate a small fishing village on that side of the bay and a local night market, where many warungs spring up late every afternoon and locals gather for a meal, if your game as we are, the local food, mainly fish, is absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere is something you wont find in a restaurant....Paradise!
To create the horizon, l used post it notes to mask off between the water and the sky, l also used a post-it note to punch a circle for masking the moon.
Using all SU ink pads the sky was created using a sponge & Bashful Blue-Tempting Turquoise-Not quite Navy.
For the water Baja Breeze-Bermuda Bay & the shading was added with a little Pumpkin Pie.
DSP-Pumpkin Pie & Melon Mambo for the flowers, C/stock-Pumpkin Pie-Basic Black & Whisper White.
Silhouette images are from "Bird on a Branch" & "Fabulous Florets" all stamped with Basic Black ink.
To give the water a lift and sparkle, l added a little Tombo Glue in ripples, Crystal effects would have been better and easier to apply, but l had used it all on other projects.
If you would like a little more inspiration, check out the JAI Blog and the fabulous interpretations the DT came up with this week!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

JAI # 75...A "Colour" challenge.
Well it's Friday already and that means Challenge time over at Just Add Ink, this week we have a "Colour" challenge provided by the very talented Delys Cram, thanks Delys for this one, these are some of my very favourite colours........
This colour combination always has me reaching for vintage style stamps and this week was no exception, but instead of the female orientated stamps l usually choose, l opted for a more masculine look with "Fathers Day" in mind, here's my take on this weeks challenge........
As you can see l went with a rough distressed look, that l felt was in keeping with this awesome stamp set from Stampin-Up called "Open Sea".
All products used are Stampin-Up, with the exception of the bakers twine.
Crystal effects was used to cover the compass surface and to create a slight water effect below the ship.
I hope you enjoyed my take on the challenge this week and if your looking for more inspiration and haven't been there yet, pop on over to the JAI BLOG and check out the fabulous work from the rest of the DT.
I hope l have inspired you to play along, if so, l look forward to seeing your creations.
Have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!
