Just Add Ink #171....

I must apologize for my lack of post's in recent weeks, but since returning from Convention last month, time has just got away from me. Between Lot's of Nanny time and preparing for the release of the "New Stampin-Up" Catalogue next week (SO EXCITED) and putting away boxes of craft room supplies from my recent Studio makeover, l am one tired chick!.....:0)

We have a great sketch challenge happening over at Just Add Ink this week from Mae and l must admit to taking a very liberal approach to this one, rotating and flipping the elements etc...but I'm happy with the outcome, as it's not something l usually do...think outside the box that is!

Soft and simple, loving playing with vellum lately, it gives such a different look to a project.
The DT have all interpreted this sketch so very differently, so don't forget to go have a peek at their gorgeous projects.

Just Add Ink #170...

Good Morning!....It's time for this weeks Just Add Ink challenge and this week it's the brainchild of Christine and ever so easy really!  She suggested we "Just Add Leaves" Now that's pretty simple don't you think? Here's how l used leaves on my project..........

I kept to a fairly CAS style this week and added some sparkle with Silver dazzling details and some silver glimmer paper. I like the look of the white space and simple stamping....and l love this stamp set!

Just Add Ink #169....

This week over at Just Add InkDelys has provided a lovely bright "Inspiration Pic" to inspire us! I chose to use the Rainbow of colours and added the black butterflies and flourish, in place of the silhouettes.

To create the background, l heat embossed the flourish from Stampin-Ups Flowering Flourishes with Black E/P and started adding colour, by sponging Tempting Turquoise from the bottom and Regal Rose from the top, meeting them in the middle, l then built up the depth of colour with Pacific Point at the base, blending it up and fading it off towards the center. I used Elegant Eggplant through the center area and finished with Melon Mambo just above that, fading it off towards the top.
Once l was happy with the colours, l used a technique from the Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry class and sprayed water into my hand and used a flicking motion to add it to the inked surface, allowing it to wick out and dilute the ink in spots as it dried. A very cool effect!

Also some exciting news, this week over at Just Add Ink we are "Welcoming" 2 new DT members. Louise and Susan, welcome girls, l look forward to sharing the Just Add Ink journey with you both.
But wait, there's more...We are also welcoming Paula back onto the team, we have missed her and are very happy to have her back on board.

Just Add Ink #168

I love Just Add Ink time, as that means it's Friday and the weekend is upon us and this weekend is a long one here in Melbourne, for the Queens Birthday celebrations. I have a very easy one planned, with some odd jobs to tackle, some play time in my studio and a sleepover with 2 of my little muffins and to top it all off, l may just add in some all day PJ time....can't wait!
Now l guess l should share my project for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge. Mae has created a lovely sketch for us to work with this week and l really enjoyed the simplicity of it and playing with Vellum is something l've been meaning to try for awhile!

You know when you have an idea in your head and it looks great, then you actually make it and it's not so much! Well this was one of those rare times that it actually met expectations and l was so happy that it came together so nicely.
The DT have come up with some gorgeous projects, l think we all had fun with this sketch. Don't forget to go check them out!

Convention 2013-Brisbane

So l guess you can tell by the smiles, that we were having a ball! It was a fantastic time as always and being Stampin-Ups 25th Anniversary, we were totally spoilt with product from the new 2013/2014 Stampin-up catalogue and l came home with a bulging bag of goodies!
But l have to say, the absolute best part of Convention is spending time with these gorgeous girls from the Just Add Ink Design Team and catching up with cyber friends from all over Australia and New Zealand.
It was a laugh a minute and full of  wonderful memories and genuine friendships and a whole lotta Chocolate!

Poor Shelli, l don't think she new what hit her when we all congregated around her en mass, but as always, she was ever so gracious and Sterling was our cameraman, what a gentleman....they are the sweetest couple!

During convention, we attended various classes, from MDS to Workshop Wows, they were brilliant and l  came away so inspired by them all, both creatively and on a business level also.

Here's a few pics from 5 days of fun!....well actually more than a few...:0)

We managed one with both Shelli and Sterling...How cute are they!

A Royal Fusion Challenge!

Afternoon blog friends, l hope you are all enjoying the weekend and have found time to get crafty! Well, wonders never cease, l did and l decided to play along with some challenge blogs. Luckily for me, l found two challenges that worked beautifully together. Fusion & Stampin Royalty, Both had cool challenges happening this week and combining the elements was easy!

Here's what l came up with.....

I used the sketch part of the Fusion Challenge and the lovely bright colours from Stampin Royalty and of course the bunting from both!
